Joe's in Town

Picked up Joe and his wife Joyce this morning from the airport and they are now enjoying the beautiful Bournemouth weather. Joe's looking forward to the weekend and I can't wait to get started.

One change and a couple of new things:

Firstly Andrew Potter is replacing Glen Walker to cover the swim coaching. Andrew is an experienced swim coach and runs T3 Performance coaching http://www.t3performance.co.uk/ He is a three time Kona finisher and always placed in the top five of his age group. Big thanks to Glen and hope he will do something with us at next years show.

Secondly we have John Dennis on board for the late slot on Saturday afternoon. John has been qualified as a chartered physiotherapist 16 years- worked full time in elite sport since 1998 - Has attended commonwealth and Olympic games - Currently employed by the english institute of sport and works full time as lead physio for British Triathlon. Triathlon wise he has previously qualified for GB age group and done a couple of ironmans.

Last but not least, Tacx have confirm they will have their full range at the show including the i-Magic virtual reality system and maybe even the mutliplayer version. More details from http://www.tacx.com/producten.php?language=EN&ttop=VR trainers&lvlMain=16&lvlSub=55&lvlSubSub=78

Martin Yelling - the final piece in the puzzle @ TriExpo

It's a pleasure to announce that Martin Yelling (Liz Yellings husband) is on board to do the running based seminars at the show. Martin is an awesome athlete (9.45 in Kona two weeks ago!) and well recognised coach who has represented the UK in the Elite World championships on many occasions.

Only 4 weeks to go!

I've been so busy doing other stuff for the show that I forgot to keep this upto date! Some major things have happened which have changed the focus of this event to something I think will be really benificial to all visitors.

So instead of a massive exhibition with everything from £1 jells to £5k bikes, TriExpo has evolved into a conference. This was in direct response to feedback from triathletes and cyclists who wanted  an education focussed event where they could come and get some 1st class training advice and tips from renound experts. So I went off and put together a list of presenters and practical demonstrations that I hope will deliver this vision. The downside is that I have to charge for people to attend the sessions-It the only possible way to make this event happen.

So if you are looking for a training focussed weekend event where you can get some great advice to guide you through the dark winter months, get online and book yourself a place. Don't forget that all BTF junior members get to come for free as I want to encourage them into the sport.

Julie will be comming to the show to talk about Women in triathlon and to give us all some winter motivation. She will also be promoting her 'Driven to Tri', Training/Coaching business http://www.driventotri.com/

Glen Walker from Slippery Fish will also be at the show to cover all aspects of swim training http://www.slipperyfish.co.uk/ .If I can find someone who wants to put in an endless pool, we will be able to have some practical demonstrations.............

New Ideas @ TriExpo

TriExpo is a new event and as such I would be very interested in any ideas you may have to make the show more worthwhile. I have Joe Friel comming over from the USA as the main speaker and will also get someone with a high profile in womens triathlon along as well to cover women specific stuff. Any features, ideas or subjects you would like covered, please send me your comments.
